The same credit works across the whole platform, it is not locked to one conversation. You choose where to spend it, and the only thing that changes the price is the type of message: text, voice or photo.
What happens if I run out of credit and do not buy more?
The conversation simply pauses until you top up, there is no automatic charge and nothing renews without you asking for it. Since credit does not expire, whatever is left from last time is still sitting there waiting.
